The meaning of this word is well-known of French, but can be not

This man was not a humorist, but a warrior promoted with the rank
of Marshal of France, killed in 1525 with the battle of Italy.
His soldiers had made in his honor a song in which it was specified
that "fifteen minutes before his death, he was still in life."
This sentence remained famous was described as "truth of Palisse"
(or self-evident truth), term which indicates now any assertion that
limits itself to an obviousness.
